What is CBG?

CBG, or Cannabigerol is a cannabidoid just like CBD, or an active ingredient from the Cannabis plant. Like CBD, CBG also has numerous applications and thus is gaining popularity in the Netherlands. CBGa, the acidic predecessor of CBG is also called the mother of cannabidoids. This is because many cannabidoids begin their lives as CBGa and then they form CBDa and THCa, among others, so without CBG, many other cannabidoids could not exist. Cannabis plants thus contain very much CBGa early in the flowering stage but very little at the end of flowering. Therefore, CBG is mainly extracted from plants that are still early in the flowering stage.
